North Point Technology is looking to hire a senior System Administrator to support a mission-critical RF and optical capabilities program. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph. The position blends enterprise system administration across Linux and Windows environments with full-cycle network engineering, combining hands-on infrastructure work with automation and security compliance to deliver resilient, high-performance systems for demanding mission workloads.
Responsibilities:
The System Administrator will install, configure, and maintain RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/Debian and Windows Server instances while managing users, groups, Active Directory, and local security principals. The incumbent will provision and manage storage solutions including LVM, RAID, SMB, and NFS, and will perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation against DoD STIG and CIS baselines. Automation responsibilities include developing Ansible playbooks and roles for Linux and Windows workloads, writing Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripts, and operating Ansible Tower/AWX for job scheduling and audit trails. Network engineering duties span the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of enterprise L2/L3 networks including VLANs, routing protocols, QoS, DHCP, and DNS, with specific focus on Arista EOS configuration, CloudVision provisioning, and eAPI/Ansible automation. The role enforces DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 standards, manages secrets and certificates, conducts vulnerability scans, and maintains RBAC across servers and network devices. The administrator will provide Tier 3 support and maintain documentation including designs, runbooks, and SOPs in Confluence or SharePoint with configuration libraries maintained in Git.

For positions requiring a federal security clearance, your clearance level must be clearly identified on your resume.

North Point Technology, a Woman Owned Small-Business based in Reston, VA, was formed in 2005 with the belief that small business plays an integral role in our government's defense mission.
The overarching dilemma facing many of the most essential federal mission systems is the inability to assemble and retain teams of highly skilled and driven technical engineers. Traditionally, the scope of these programs demand structure and stability at a scale that is only possible from one of a few large proven organizations. These organizations typically come with significant overhead. This overhead, along with their size, can restrict these organizations from recruiting and retaining the most capable members of the workforce.
North Point Technology takes aim at solving this problem by recruiting highly skilled and motivated technologists, while retaining them by providing excellent compensation and benefits. We foster a culture of innovation by hiring like-minded engineers who have passion for their work and the mission. With our efficient business model, we can attract and retain top talent to facilitate critical mission needs.
