Job Title: System Administrator SME
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Required Clearance TS/SCI and CI Poly
Salary: Negotiable

 

The System Administrator Specialist ensures seamless operation of our multi-user computer system. This role collaborates closely with the software engineering team and oversees system resources such as CPU and disk usage to optimize performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Enhancing system performance and managing software installations across the system.
• Overseeing mass storage allocation.
• Engaging with end-users and assessing vendor offerings.
• Recommending hardware and software acquisitions, overseeing installations, and ensuring robust backup and recovery processes.
• Formulating and supervising policies and standards for optimal computing resource utilization.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Must have strong Linux skills 
• Compliance with DOD 8570 standards.
• Capability to manage system security tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) process, including user profile and account creation.

Educational Background:  

•  Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of pertinent experience, OR 
•  Master's degree with 8+ years of pertinent experience, OR  
•  PhD with 5+ years of pertinent experience.
