Job Description

We are seeking a talented ServiceNow Discovery Administrator to join our team. As a ServiceNow Discovery Administrator, your responsibilities will include implementing, administering, and optimizing ServiceNow Discovery to automate IT asset identification, configuration item (CI) population, and infrastructure visibility in alignment with business requirements. We are looking for a ServiceNow Discovery Administrator who has extensive experience and a passion for delivering reliable and efficient ServiceNow solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Implementing, managing, and configuring ServiceNow Discovery to automate IT asset identification and tracking.
  • Configure and manage Pattern-Based Discovery, including pattern creation, customization, testing, and deployment for Windows, Linux, network devices, databases, cloud resources, and enterprise applications.
  • Manage and troubleshoot SSH-based Discovery for Linux, Unix.
  • Configure and support SNMP-based Discovery for network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network-connected devices.
  • Develop and maintain Discovery schedules, credential assignments, MID Server configurations, and network ranges to maximize discovery coverage and performance
  • Perform Discovery troubleshooting and root cause analysis for failures related to credentials, firewall rules, SSH connections, SNMP configurations, pattern execution, and MID Server communications.
  • Leading the tracking and managing of update sets for system changes across environments.
  • Understand business context and how to translate business and functional requirements into a sustainable ServiceNow implementation.
  • Establishing and maintaining connections with various data sources using ServiceNow Graph Connectors.
  • Regular audits across CI types and implementation of data repair actions.
  • Perform day to day support, administration and maintenance of ServiceNow Discovery initiatives.
  • Implementing, managing, and configuring of Agent Client Collector (ACC) within the ServiceNow platform
  • Develop clear and concise technical and process documentation.
  • Facilitation of projects and deliverables across CMDB stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and coaching of junior business analysts.
  • Data management support for the hardware asset and software asset management teams.
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the CMDB.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • 5-7 years of Experience Required, with minimum 3-5 years of experience Implementing, managing, and configuring ServiceNow Discovery to automate IT asset identification and tracking
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB and related modules.
  • Proficiency in configuration management processes and best practices.
  • Experience with integration and automation tools within ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and ITOM processes.
  • Experience with configuring and managing Discovery probes, sensors, and patterns.
  • Proficiency in data integration, data quality management, and reporting within ServiceNow
