JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluates system specifications, installs enterprise computer systems, configures systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains workstations and server systems focusing on the Operating system and the network.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
The System administrator IV duties encompass system development and deployment including but not limited to system administration, system configuration, and system support such as installing patches, coordinating repairs, preforming system backup and recovery, implement and maintain system certification and security posture for the various systems within the DoD space. The System Administrator is required to have Security+ certification or higher, ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, clearable to special access programs (SAP), communication security (COMSEC) responsible officer (CRO) experience, a positive attitude, proactive and able to work well with a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Operations & Architecture: Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and daily management of enterprise-grade server infrastructure, storage area networks (SAN), and virtualization platforms (such as VMware vSphere) across various specialized networks.
Security, STIGs & Compliance: Lead the implementation of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Orchestrate patch management, and generate technical documentation for the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages.
Disaster Recovery & COOP: Architect, implement, and validate robust data backup, system replication, and disaster recovery strategies to satisfy Continuity of Operations (COOP) and mission-essential availability mandates.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the tier-3/4 escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior systems administrators (Levels I-III), and coordinate cross-functionally with network, cyber, and database units.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience. Requires at least nine (9) years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.

SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $97,000 to $130,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.

Ranges supported by JT4 include the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) at Schriever Air Force Base, the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), the Air Force Test Center 412th Test Wing (412TW) at Edwards Air Force Base, and the Navy China Lake Ranges (CLR) including Pt. Mugu, California.
JT4 is supported by several teammate companies on the J-Tech II Contract. Together we develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments. We prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
