Boeing Australia is currently seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team to be based 100% onsite in Brisbane

This is a key role responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Classified Infrastructure. You will work closely with the broader IT team and end-users to ensure the seamless operation, security, and performance of applications across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving and documentation skills and a keen eye for detail. You’ll be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, communicate well and deliver high-quality support with a strong customer service focus. Your ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is paramount.

About the Role:

  • Maintenance & Support: Regularly update, maintain hardware infrastructure, maintain multiple operating systems, patch to protect against vulnerabilities, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
  • Security Implementation: Safeguard applications and sensitive data by enforcing security measures and monitoring access and permissions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, fostering efficient issue resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the IT team to integrate applications seamlessly with existing systems, optimising performance through collaboration with developers and network administrators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to streamline processes, enhance user experience, and boost system performance.
  • System Installation: Oversee the installation and configuration of servers and workstations, validating end-to-end functionality through rigorous testing.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role within a corporate or technical environment, overseeing compute, storage and backup appliances.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and supporting a range of software applications.
  • An understanding of Windows and Linux environments, databases, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Applicants must have a current or reinstatable NV1 clearance. You will then have the ability and willingness to obtain an NV2 clearance post start.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python) and virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V).
