The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic System Administrator.
Job Responsibilities:
Specific duties includes but not limited to the following:
- Administering, configuring, and monitoring enterprise servers on-premises or on the cloud, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SQL/Oracle DB.
- Collaborating with IT colleagues to plan, implement, and support the transition to Nutanix HCI environments for storage and server clustering.
- Managing and optimizing Azure instances, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud resources.
- Implementing and maintaining IGEL-powered VDI systems for efficient and secure remote access.
- Utilizing experience with Windows and Linux-based operating systems to support various IT needs.
- Managing central-managed tools, such as SCCM/Ivanti, to streamline routine system maintenance tasks, such as OS updates, patches, and backups, to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and availability.
- Creating and maintaining build pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment of test-ready code to QA and production environments
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Monitoring system performance and security and taking proactive measures to prevent and mitigate potential risks.
- Maintaining / executing agency business continuity plans and contribute to its upkeep.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain IT security policies and practices.
- Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Staying current with industry trends and best practices to propose and implement system improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Nutanix, Azure, Linux, or other Enterprise OS) are a plus.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
