Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level PHP Developer (Independent Contractor) to support client projects and ongoing web development initiatives. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving technical challenges, building scalable applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Contractors may work remotely and are expected to provide their own equipment and development environment.

Scope of Work

The selected contractor will provide development services for client-facing web applications and digital solutions, including:

· Developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications built with Symfony and/or Laravel

· Writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code following industry best practices

· Troubleshooting and resolving application issues

· Collaborating with project stakeholders to understand technical requirements and proposed solutions

· Participating in code reviews and contributing to development standards

· Assisting with application integrations, APIs, and database-driven functionality

· Providing accurate status updates and communicating project risks or roadblocks

Required Qualifications

· 2-5 years of professional PHP development experience

· Experience developing applications using Laravel and/or Symfony

· Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)

· Experience working with modern PHP development practices (PHP 7/8)

· Experience using Git and version control workflows

· Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Demonstrated history of delivering reliable, high-quality code

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working with Symfony Framework (preferred but not required)

· Symfony Certification

· Experience with Docker or containerized development environments

· Familiarity with Doctrine ORM, caching, fixtures, and related technologies

· Experience developing and integrating REST APIs

· Experience working within Linux environments

· Full-stack development experience (frontend and backend)

· Experience with automated testing and CI/CD workflows

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's degree preferred

· Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated success will be considered
