What You’ll Do
- Embody the mission and values of Atlas Schools, including connection, accountability, growth mindset, and perseverance.
- Plan, teach, and evaluate instruction for students having difficulty with foundational literacy skills, reading, or writing
- Teach and facilitate whole class instruction while providing supports 1:1 or in small groups with students based on their content mastery level in reading
- Develop curriculum and scope and sequence of instruction for grades 5-8 for learning interventions
- Create, edit, revise, and share lesson plans for the school to retain as needed
- Work with building leadership to make decisions regarding curriculum, assessments, programming
- Build student investment structures to motivate students in learning growth
- Collaborate with teachers and Department Lead on best practices for teaching reading
- Analyze assessment and observational data to support differentiated instruction plans for students
- Collaborate with Special Education teachers to support determining the success of MTSS/RTI accommodations
- Work with the Department Lead to develop the scope & sequence of literacy skills
- Collaborate professionally with colleagues and instructional coaches, demonstrating openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
- Serve as an adviser to a group of students and families, maintaining consistent communication and hosting required family conferences.
- Actively engage families as partners by understanding their backgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school community.

- Maintain a school culture of high academic and behavioral expectations through reflection and adherence to shared systems.
- Provide classroom coverage for colleagues during absences when required (with additional compensation).
- Complete the necessary training to administer standardized and progress-monitoring assessments to inform instruction and support
- Participate in professional development, instructional planning, and required school events throughout the year.
- Support school operations as needed, including but not limited to, arrival, dismissal, lunch, field trips, academic support sessions, community events, and graduations.

Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Signing Bonus: $1,000
- Annual
Salary Range: $50,500 - $63,549 (DOE)
- Full Time; Monday - Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

- - Following years will not include new staff orientation and will consist of 196 workdays.

QualificationsWho You Are

Required Qualifications
- Able to meet “in-field status” for the position with one of the following by October 31, 2026:
- - Colorado Department of Education License with endorsement in ELA (Grades 6-12)
- - Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Arts
- - 24 credit hours (aligned with CDE's endorsement worksheet) in English Language Arts
- - Completed/passed PRAXIS 5038 or 5047 within the last 10 years
- Ability to successfully pass all required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
- Possess a strong understanding of best practices used to develop foundational literacy support needed for all levels of readers
- Be 100% dedicated to educational equity and committed to creating a rigorous, nurturing, and joyful educational experience
- Have the highest commitment to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration, best practices, and regular assessment
- Ownership for the academic results of students
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications:
- Spanish speaking skills
- At least 2+ years of successful teaching experience in the subject area
- Prior experience with progress-monitoring literacy tools and a proven track record of strong student growth in literacy skills
- Successful leader of an urban classroom who has used structure, incentives, and high expectations to drive student success while creating a joyful environment for students to thrive in
