Part-Time Aides
position can be used to assist with the supervision of students during non-instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Part-Time Aides can work for the school, but for no longer than 3.75 hours each day.
DUTIES OF PART-TIME AIDES
Some examples of duties that can be performed by Part-Time Aides include assisting with supervision of students:
• During lunch and/or recess period(s)
• During study halls (to only be held during non-instructional minutes)
• During in-school suspensions
• During student entry/exit
• In and around the school building
Part-Time Aides cannot take on the duties of other clearly defined school-based positions, including but not limited to teacher’s assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children’s welfare attendants, security guards or aides, clerks, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Part-Time Aides must have the following qualifications:
• High school degree or GED equivalent (required)
• One year of experience in the supervision of children in an organized setting (preferred)
• Ability to work with and for school children
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.
