Job Description

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF) Predictive Maintenance Technical Specialist (Associate to Mid-level) to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The SWPF Predictive Maintenance Technical Specialist (Associate to Mid-level) provides technical analysis for equipment reliability in support of the facility’s missions and maintenance program goals. Utilizes predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies (i.e., vibration, infrared, ultrasound, etc.) to analyze data. Provides engineering, maintenance, and operations organizations sound technical information resulting in key operational decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and reports on Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technology data utilized in the assigned facilities and compares to established standards.
  • Creates/generates reports pertaining to ongoing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and modification activities related to the assigned facility’s maintenance program, as well as current status of all equipment assigned under close supervision.
  • Develops PdM subject matter expertise for general equipment issues and provides technical recommendations and reports to engineering, operations, maintenance, and work control organizations to resolve issues. Refers more complex issues to manager or higher level specialist.
  • Evaluates, tests, and procures new equipment and instruments ready for review by manager.
  • Interfaces with vendors to resolve technical and service issues on equipment for new procurements, as well as currently installed equipment.
  • Reviews technical components of operations and maintenance programs and ensures compliance with the site’s policies and procedures. Refers changes as needed to manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional responsibilities at the Predictive Maintenance Technical Specialist level:

  • Acts as PdM subject matter expert for general equipment issues and provides technical recommendations and reports to engineering, operations, maintenance, and work control organizations to resolve issues. Refers more complex issues to manager or higher level specialist.
  • Interfaces and negotiates with vendors to resolve technical and service issues on equipment for new procurements, as well as currently installed equipment.
  • May assist in developing plans and path forward actions to address emergent needs as a result of failed equipment.
  • May recommend preventive maintenance strategies to maintain or upgrade existing facility systems.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and practical work experience in predictive maintenance, engineering, work control planning or related areas as defined by the job description.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree

USD $69,100.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $138,000.00/Yr.

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) has been awarded the Savannah River Site Integrated Mission Completion Contract (SRS IMCC) by U.S Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (DOE EM). SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor.

Critical scope covered under SRS IMCC includes, but is not limited to:

Liquid Waste Stabilization/Disposition, and may include Nuclear Materials Management and Stabilization; Project Management and Support Services; Storage of Liquid Radioactive Waste; Remediation, Treatment, and Disposal of Nuclear Materials, Spent Nuclear Fuel; Remediation and Treatment of Contaminated Surface Water, Groundwater and Soils; and, Decontamination of Nuclear Facilities and Equipment.

The contract has an estimated ceiling of approximately $21 billion over a 10-year ordering period.
