UGL Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is a trusted provider of essential services across power, water, and gas sectors. With a strong reputation and long-standing contracts in power distribution, transmission, and water operations and maintenance, we are poised for significant growth.

Reporting to the Switching Manager and responsible for the directing and controlling of all switching activities related to distribution powerlines services, conducting HV & LV switching to facilitate safe access to the network.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and control switching activities on project to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met

  • Ensure a safe working condition is present for all employees, contractors and visitors

  • The development and submission ofENAR for planned works

  • Maintain seamless liaison between planning and delivery streams to ensure efficient service delivery

  • Ensure crews are completing the job pack correctly and accurately

  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.

  • Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed.

About You

  • Possess relevant trade qualifications, either an Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Distribution Linesman/Jointer

  • UEPOPS116 Operate local H.V. switchgear

  • UEPOPS117 Operate local L.V. switchgear

  • Equivalent construction tickets and safety certifications

  • Construction card

  • Current and valid driver’s license
