Swing Shift Alternate Lead, Composite Repa-17399

The Swing shift Composite Alternate Lead Mechanic steps in as a leader when the primary Lead is unavailable, ensuring all repairs, modifications, and tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The role requires FAA A&P certification and a strong technical background in aviation maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform hot and cold bond repairs as per Aircraft SRMs, EAs, or other approved documentation.
  • Identify damaged components and select appropriate repair techniques and materials.
  • Conduct tasks such as sanding, trimming, priming, and fitting repairs to parts.
  • Follow repair sequences, complete necessary documentation, and observe safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Record work hours and document all work accomplished daily.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of aviation maintenance experience.
  • Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) required.
  • Knowledge: Familiar with FAA regulations (14 CFR) and composite repair techniques.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (spoken, written, reading).

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with reliability, initiative, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in time management and handling multiple priorities under pressure.

Physical Demands

  • Constant: Standing, walking, lifting up to 10 lbs., wrist movements, working in varied environmental weather conditions.
  • Frequent: Lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing, stooping, squatting, working in confined spaces or overhead positions.
  • Occasional: Lifting up to 50 lbs., operating equipment, working in wet conditions, and elevated heights.

Work Environment

The role involves challenging physical demands, including working at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
