
The Swing Light Board Operator supports the daily operation of Hale Centre Theatre productions by operating the lighting console for assigned performances and providing coverage across productions as scheduled. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the consistency and integrity of the lighting design from opening through closing while ensuring safe and reliable show operation.
The Swing Light Board Operator must be comfortable operating ETC Eos-family lighting consoles, reading and understanding lighting plots and show paperwork, completing established pre-show and post-show procedures, and troubleshooting lighting systems and show-specific equipment. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and availability for nights, weekends, technical rehearsals, and other production calls as assigned.
Swing Light Board Operators provide coverage based on production and departmental needs, including covering Primary Light Board Operator days off and other assigned performances. Weekly hours and additional production calls may vary and are not guaranteed.

Hale Centre Theatre has been operating in Utah since 1985 with tremendous support from local audiences. The Theatre was located on South Main Street from 1985 until 1998 when it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community theatre and moved to a facility in West Valley City.
Hale Centre Theatre has most recently opened a two-stage, world-class facility at The Mountain America Performing Arts Centre in Sandy, Utah, in Nov 2017. Now serving over 500,000 patrons each year over at least eight productions.
The Theatre sees over 250,000 patrons through its doors each year and has a dedicated season ticket base of more than 22,000. Each season it produces seven productions including dramas, comedies, and musicals. The productions are cast entirely from within the community using local artists who share their talents as a pastime rather than a profession.
