What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, and program participants.
  • Providing administrative support to the Swim School Team Leader to ensure smooth program operations.
  • Assisting Swim Instructors and Aquatic Services Officers in the delivery of Learn to Swim programs.
  • Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, acting as Warden during emergencies or evacuations.
  • Supporting staff inductions, ongoing training, and development initiatives.
  • Responding to feedback constructively and contributing to continuous improvement of programs and services.
  • Upholding confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Previous experience in administrative support, ideally in a leisure, recreation, or aquatic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to supporting a safe, engaging environment for all visitors.
  • Experience in training or supporting staff is highly desirable.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

The incumbent is required to hold and maintain current qualifications in;

  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate including current CPR Certificate.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Experience in swim instruction.
  • Current driver’s licence.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Aquatic Services Officer qualification.
  • Infant Aquatics Certificate.
  • Access and Inclusion Certificate.
  • Teacher of Adults accreditation.
  • Competitive Strokes qualification.
  • Austswim Assessor / Workplace Assessor accreditation.
