Responsive recruiter Job Title: Swim Instructor/Lifeguard Reports to: Deck Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Works as part of a team to instruct children how to be safe in and around the water. Curriculum focuses on using fun and games to facilitate confidence and learning. Paid training provided. Participates in monthly team-building meetings and events to hone lifesaving skills and build workplace culture. This is a part-time job. After training, you may only receive between 4 to 12 hours a week once you've proven yourself to be a reliable team member, you can earn more shifts if you want them. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
2. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
3. Evaluates students’ progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
4. Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
5. Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction.
6. Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
7. Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Reports issues to management as appropriate.
8. Participates in set up and clean up of the pool area before and after shifts by: maintaining proper storage of pool equipment, placing and removing lane lines, clearing out skimmer baskets, and participating in pre and post shift.
9. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required documentation and paperwork.
10. Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion.
11. Attends required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
12. Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
    
    

Safety Standards:The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Goldfish Swim School follows all CDC and WHO safety standards along with following any local guidelines.
Education/Experience: Must be at least 15 years old to apply. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider preferred but not required. Swimming experience is preferred. Clear background check is required.
Certificates and Licenses: CPR, AED and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation: $16.75 - $19.50 per hour
