Swim Instructors at British Swim School provide an opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact in the lives of your community to ensure “survival of the littlest”.

The Position:


Being a swim instructor at British Swim School you will be provided the training to teach swim lessons to children and adults, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, and parents and/or guardians. We provide a fun loving environment where you can find real fulfillment and purpose using your natural talent to save lives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Enthusiastic, energetic and assertive personality with strong customer service skills.
• Effectively communicating with customers and employees. Bi-lingual is a plus.
• Disciplined to follow schedules, policies, enforce safety procedures and teaching methods.
• Experience working with children is a plus
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• If you don’t have aquatic experience but are great with kids, comfortable in the water, and passionate about teaching, we will train you.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching as requested by Aquatics Manager.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (8am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
