Job Description

  • Tuesdays 8.30am - 12pm
  • Wednesdays 8.30am - 12 pm
  • Thursdays 8.30am - 12pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Learn to Swim Instructor to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will teach swimming skills to students of all ages and abilities, helping them build confidence and competence in the water.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons for students across all skill levels
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants at all times
  • Maintain accurate attendance and progress records
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development
  • Follow all aquatic facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Assist with pool deck supervision as required

Requirements

  • Current Learn to Swim Instructor qualification or equivalent certification
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with children and adults of varying abilities
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
  • Previous experience in aquatic instruction is highly regarded

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
