The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality private and small-group swim lessons to members and guests in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. This is a commission-based position with unlimited earning potential, offering instructors the opportunity to build their own client base within the club community.

Instructors work directly with members to coordinate lesson days and times, creating a flexible schedule that supports both the instructor and the member. Success in this role is driven by initiative, professionalism, and the ability to build strong relationships while consistently exceeding member expectations. Maintaining safety, fostering a positive atmosphere, and delivering exceptional instruction are key components of this role.

Reporting Structure
• Reports to the Aquatics Director

Day to Day
• Provide private and small-group swim instruction to members of all ages and skill levels.
• Coordinate directly with members to schedule lessons based on mutual availability.
• Build and maintain a consistent client base through excellent service and member engagement.
• Create a personalized and welcoming experience for members during their time at the aquatic facility.
• Promote aquatic programs, lessons, and club amenities while maintaining a high level of professionalism, including wearing a club-approved uniform and nametag.
• Ensure a safe environment by actively supervising all lessons and adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked aquatics facility in alignment with club standards.

Additional Duties
• Will bill members for lessons and turn in manager approved commission spreadsheets weekly
• Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to excellence in all interactions.
• Follow safe working practices and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain required certifications and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Participate in team meetings or briefings as needed

About You
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience teaching swim lessons to a variety of ages and skill levels preferred.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to build relationships and manage a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements
• Frequent swimming, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor elements and temperature changes.
• Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50–100 lbs. on occasion.
• Talking, hearing, and seeing.

Primary Tools/Equipment
• Club approved uniform

Work Schedule
• Flexible scheduling coordinated directly with members.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on member demand.
• Opportunity to expand hours and income based on availability and client base.
