Position Swim Coach

Location Coronado, CA

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

• Execute on-deck swim training and aquatics workout sessions for Navy Fleet personnel and civilians interested in applying for Naval Special Warfare according to the schedule established by the Government (traditionally 2 hours each working day).
• Establish a swim training curriculum appropriate to prepare high potential NSW candidates that develops comfort, technique, and speed in the water.
• Introduce and emphasize the combat side stroke used in NSW training over traditional swimming strokes (preparation for NSW and not general aquatic competition.
• Ensure all swimmers have completed the Candidate Information sheet and civilians signed the Hold Harmless Agreement before participation in swim program.

Qualifications

• Posses Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification with CPR first-aid and lifeguard credentials.
• If a substitute coach is required for any session, the Contractor will provide proof of certifications before the coach is assigned. The Government retains the right to consider unqualified any coach who fails to present proper certification. The swim session will not be conducted in the absence of a Government approved, qualified coach. The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will confirm and approve the qualifications of any substitute coach.
