We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a SWDWP Assistant Contract Manager, on a 18-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.97 - £22.20 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Contract Manager to support the South West Devon Waste Partnership (SWDWP) Contract Manager in the day-to-day management and administration of the Residual Waste Treatment Contract. The successful candidate will work closely with partner councils, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure effective contract performance, compliance, financial management, and service delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in contract management, business administration, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement who enjoys working in a fast-paced public sector environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Contract Manager in the day-to-day management of the Residual Waste Treatment Contract.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Analyse, reconcile and verify operational and financial data, including tonnage and service performance.
  • Administer contract-related financial transactions and monitor budgets.
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, presentations and performance summaries for senior management and partner councils.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics, or NVQ Level 3/4 in a relevant discipline.

Essentials:

  • Knowledge of business administration and contract management principles.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using reporting systems and analysing data.
  • Previous experience in contract management or business support.
  • Experience monitoring contract performance and compliance.
  • Financial monitoring and budget management experience.

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
