Job Description

Help build software that supports people in hearing and communicating more easily.

As Software Engineering Manager in Software Solutions, you will provide technical and people leadership for engineers building connected cloud, desktop, and mobile applications in a regulated product environment.

You may already be a people manager, or you may be a senior engineer or technical lead ready to take that next step. What matters is that you bring strong technical judgment, enjoy helping others grow, and can raise the engineering capability of the teams around you.

The Team you will be part of:

Software Solutions develops the cloud, desktop, and mobile applications that help hearing care professionals and end users get the most from our products. We work closely with colleagues across Product Management, Product Ownership, UX, Architecture, Quality, Regulatory, Security, DevOps, and engineering. The role is based in our Ballerup office and you will report to Torben Brødsgaard, Director, Mobile Apps.

Our team values thoughtful technical decisions, open discussion of trade-offs, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for deliveries.

Because we develop software in a regulated environment, we must build quality, security, compliance, and traceability into how we design, develop, test, and evolve our products.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Set technical direction with architects, technical leads, and engineers across cloud, desktop, and mobile applications.
  • Guide architectural and technical decisions, balancing customer needs, quality, security, maintainability, scalability, compliance, and technical risk.
  • Develop engineers through clear expectations, regular feedback, career conversations, and opportunities to build technical ownership.
  • Promote robust engineering practices, including software design, code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, release management, and learning from incidents.
  • Identify and address technical debt, platform risks, architectural weaknesses, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory colleagues to embed risk management, validation, documentation, change control, and traceability in everyday engineering work.
  • Identify responsible opportunities for AI-enabled product capabilities, developer tools, and automation, ensuring privacy, cybersecurity, quality, traceability, reliability, and human oversight are considered early.

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:

  • Bring experience as a software engineer, senior engineer, technical lead, engineering lead, or people manager in a product-development environment.
  • Bring solid technical experience delivering and evolving software across cloud, desktop, and mobile applications, including software architecture, technical design, and technical risk management.
  • Experience applying AI in software engineering, digital products, or engineering ways of working—for example AI-enabled product features, developer tools, automation, or generative AI.
  • An understanding of responsible AI considerations, especially privacy, security, quality, traceability, and human oversight.
  • Are ready to support the development of others through technical credibility, constructive feedback, clear communication, and supportive leadership. Formal people-management experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Work well with others across technical and non-technical teams, make trade-offs clear, and apply sound judgement when balancing technical ambition with maintainability, reliability, security, compliance, and customer value.
  • Experience with agile ways of working, including SAFe or another scaled agile framework, is beneficial.
  • May have experience from a regulated environment, and understand how quality, compliance, validation, documentation, risk management, and change control affect software development.

At GN we pride ourselves on encouraging flexible work whenever possible. We trust our people to fulfill their responsibilities, to know when in-person collaboration is better than hybrid, and to be present when it's needed most.

We encourage you to apply

Even if you don’t match all the above-mentioned skills, we welcome your application if you think you have transferable skills. We highly value a mindset and motivation that align with our core values, to not only ensure growth for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.

We are focused on an inclusive recruitment process

All applicants will receive equal consideration for employment. As such, we encourage you to submit your CV without a photo to ensure an equal and fair application process.
