We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Credit Approver to join our Commercial Credit team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and approving commercial credit facilities within delegated authority, ensuring sound credit decisions that balance risk management with business growth objectives.

You will work closely with Relationship Managers and key stakeholders to evaluate credit proposals, provide independent credit assessment, and ensure adherence to the Bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Approve credit/financing applications, including new facilities, incremental facilities, annual reviews, temporary excesses, offer renewals and other credit-related requests, within delegated credit authority (CDL).

  • Perform credit assessment and prepare credit evaluations for credit applications beyond CDL for decision-making by higher approving authorities.

  • Review and approve the internal credit ratings of customers.

  • Work with Business Units (BU) to identify, mitigate and manage credit risks, including resolving complex credit issues.

  • Ensure credit decisions are guided by the Bank's Credit Policy, guidelines and practices.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years' experience in Commercial/Corporate Banking, either as a team leader with strong credit fundamentals or a combination of Credit Evaluation and Business experience.

  • Frontline commercial/corporate banking experience with strong credit fundamentals will be an added advantage.

  • Solid analytical and technical capabilities, with a thorough understanding of plain vanilla and structured transactions.

  • Agile mindset and a team player with a can-do attitude.

Preferred Experience

  • Candidates with frontline banking experience, such as Relationship Managers and Commercial/Corporate Banking professionals with strong credit assessment capabilities, are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in preparing, structuring and presenting credit applications will be an added advantage.
