In this role, you will lead the delivery of Finance technology and transformation initiatives, providing strategic oversight of a portfolio of programs supporting Regulatory Reporting, Financial & Tax Reporting, Performance Management Reporting, and Finance Data Management. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, to drive business and regulatory change, enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen data governance, and improve operational efficiency. As the Finance technology lead for the portfolio, you will translate business priorities into executable transformation roadmaps, oversee end-to-end programme delivery, and ensure initiatives are delivered effectively, compliantly and with measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Finance technology and transformation programmes from initiation through implementation and post-production stabilisation.
  • Drive strategic initiatives supporting Finance platforms, reporting systems, regulatory change, data management, automation and process optimisation.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to define programme objectives, priorities, roadmaps, business cases and success measures.
  • Manage programme interdependencies & establish and maintain robust governance frameworks.
  • Oversee internal and external delivery teams to ensure programmes are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards.
  • Provide programme status updates, executive reporting and decision-making materials for senior management and governance committees.
  • Ensure all programmes comply with internal governance policies, technology standards, risk management requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead technology-enabled Finance transformation initiatives focused on reporting, data and process modernisation.
  • Partner with Finance and Technology teams to define future-state operating models, technology architecture and transformation roadmaps.
  • Drive automation, digitalisation and data-driven improvements across Finance processes and reporting functions.
  • Proactively identify, assess and manage programme risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation of critical concerns.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants and strategic partners supporting programme delivery.
  • Lead, mentor and develop project managers, business analysts and delivery teams supporting the Finance transformation portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and execution excellence.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of experience leading large-scale transformation programmes within banking, financial services or highly regulated environments.
  • Proven track record delivering Finance transformation, finance technology, regulatory reporting or enterprise-wide change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Finance functions including Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Tax Reporting, Management Reporting, Finance Data Management and Finance Controls.
  • Deep expertise in programme and portfolio management, including governance, risk management, budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience delivering complex technology programmes across both Agile and traditional delivery methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Finance systems, data management, reporting platforms, system integration and data governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge and engage senior executives across business and technology functions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives within a complex, matrixed and highly regulated environment.
  • PMP, PgMP or equivalent programme management certification preferred.
