Job Description

The Trade Payables Finance business offers integrated cash management and trade services to multinational corporations, financial institutions, and public sector organizations around the world. This Senior Vice President (SVP) position is within the Supplier Engagement function of the Global Payables Finance business and is responsible for driving the growth of Citi’s world-class Trade Payables solutions.

This role offers a dynamic mix of product sales, client relationships, and managing and executing the supplier engagement and onboarding strategy for a portfolio of key clients. You will partner with Treasury, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders across client and supplier organizations to drive adoption of Citi's Payables solutions, directly engaging suppliers to identify needs, and articulate the value proposition.

This role may include direct team oversight, with responsibility for coaching, performance management, and execution against growth objectives. The ideal candidate is a high-performing sales and commercialization leader with a demonstrated ability to drive supplier acquisition, expand program adoption, and deliver sustainable revenue growth. In this capacity, you will lead the development and execution of supplier growth strategies, manage strategic client and supplier relationships, cultivate a robust commercial pipeline, and maintain strong portfolio governance, risk oversight, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Revenue & Portfolio Growth: Lead the supplier engagement for Citi's Trade Payables solutions, developing and executing campaigns to drive supplier adoption and consistently growing the portfolio in terms of both revenue and assets. Execute on cross-sell opportunities (e.g., FX, PO) and explore industry trends to deliver results. Drive increased supplier participation in manual discounting programs by conducting proactive outreach, educating suppliers on discounting benefits, and guiding them through enrollment and transaction processes.
• Manage the Full Sales Cycle: Identify new opportunities. Build and manage a robust supplier pipeline from prospecting to closure. Coordinate implementation of existing programs. Conduct proactive outreach, deliver compelling presentations to Treasury/Finance/Procurement professionals, and negotiate and execute agreements to secure program adoption.
• Lead and Mentor a High-Performing Team: Serve as individual contributor and player-coach by managing a portfolio of client accounts while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Supplier Engagement Managers (SEMs), where applicable. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial excellence to drive strategic objectives, accelerate supplier adoption, and deliver exceptional client value.
• Strategic Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key client (Buyer) and supplier stakeholders. Conduct periodic reviews to share program trends, understand payment flows, analyze asset behaviors, and identify new opportunities.
• Maintain Risk & Governance Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of risk management and governance. Collaborate closely with internal partners (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Operations, Banking, and Sales) to build and maintain a robust and compliant product portfolio.
• Execute Onboarding & Program Strategy: Coordinate and execute the end-to-end supplier engagement and onboarding strategy, ensuring a seamless and rapid implementation to maximize revenue. Organize webinars, workshops, and events to educate suppliers on product benefits and guide them through enrollment.
• Performance & Data Oversight: Lead periodic reviews with Regional Management, tracking supplier activity and performance in internal systems. Coordinate strategy across the region, harness data to identify opportunities, and ensure digital tools (e.g., Nirvana) are fully utilized. Manage and oversee vendor relationships and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/University degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• 8+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development, or relationship management, preferably within corporate banking, trade finance, or cash management.
• Exposure to and understanding of business analysis, sales, data, and system analysis.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and revenue growth KPIs. Demonstrable experience in managing a sales pipeline and portfolio of business.
• Excellent influential, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior-level Treasury and Finance Directors.
• Demonstrated ability to self-direct work efforts, meet deadlines, take initiative, and produce consistent, high-quality work
• Spanish or French, speaking is a plus.
