Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Group Accounting & Reporting Specialist to lead our head office accounting and group consolidation activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and IFRS compliance across the Group.

You will also partner closely with the FP&A team, ensuring alignment between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, and supporting high-quality financial insights for decision-making.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multinational environment and enjoys both technical accounting and cross-functional collaboration.

Principal Accountabilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the month-end close process for head office
  • Ensure accurate accounting across GL, balance sheet, and P&L
  • Oversee reconciliations, journals, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Maintain strong financial controls and IFRS compliance
  • Support audits and statutory reporting requirements

Group Consolidation

  • Manage monthly and annual group consolidation
  • Ensure accurate intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
  • Review submissions from business units for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reporting packs
  • Continuously improve consolidation processes and systems

Cost Recharge & Intercompany

  • Oversee head office cost allocations across the Group
  • Maintain transparent and consistent recharge methodologies
  • Resolve intercompany differences and ensure balance integrity
  • Align cost allocation models with business performance needs

FP&A Collaboration & Insights

  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide accurate results and detailed variance explanations
  • Ensure alignment between financial reporting and planning data
  • Support integrated reporting and performance insights

Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks
  • Drive automation and process improvements
  • Enhance reporting efficiency and data quality
  • Support finance systems and reporting enhancements

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with business units, shared services, and auditors
  • Provide technical accounting guidance across the Group
  • Build strong collaboration with FP&A and wider finance teams

Requirements

Essential:

  • CA(SA), ACCA, or equivalent (or relevant degree with strong experience)
  • Proven experience in group reporting and consolidations
  • Strong background in financial accounting and IFRS
  • Experience in intercompany, cost allocations, and head office finance

Advantageous

  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, or forecasting cycles
