The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving existing products through engineering design, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role ensures product performance, reliability, and compliance by managing engineering changes, clarifying technical requirements, and supporting production and new product launches.
The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain product integrity and drive value-added improvements.
About Your Role:
Develop and support product designs using best practices such as DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes, including phase reviews and validation planning.
Manage engineering changes, including drawings, documentation, feasibility analysis, and system tracking.
Ensure proper documentation and implementation of design changes and product deviations.
Clarify technical requirements related to materials, product design, specifications (ISO, IMDS, RoHS), and certifications (UL, CSA, VDE).
Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, A3, Ishikawa, and Six Sigma.
Support manufacturing operations by addressing process issues and improving product performance.
About Your Job:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge of core quality tools (FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, SPC).
Familiarity with ISO or TS standards.
Experience with problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
Strong analytical and technical capabilities.
English proficiency (written and verbal).
