We are seeking a summer intern that is passionate about design and sustainability. This individual will report to Quinn Evans’s Director of Sustainability and provide research and organizational skills to aid design decisions on Quinn Evans projects and support firmwide sustainability efforts.

The internship may be located out of our Washington D.C., Baltimore, or Richmond Offices.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or Environmental Sustainability
  • Experience in the following programs is desired, but not required or expected in all:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Suite
  • Experience with one or more of the following LCA software is preferred, but not required:
    • Tally, One Click LCA, C.Scale, CARE Tool
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Attention to detail, creative thinker, and well-organized
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills with a professional work ethic
  • Ability to collect, organize, interpret, and present data with quality and accuracy

2026 Summer Sustainable Design Project

The summer intern will support a cross-office embodied carbon initiative aimed at strengthening how carbon data informs design decisions. In collaboration with Quinn Evans sustainability and practice area leaders, the intern will help interpret life cycle assessment (LCA) data and translate findings into clear narratives and diagrams that help QE project teams, clients, and stakeholders understand where and when design choices can have the greatest carbon impact within real-world schedule and budget constraints. Prior LCA experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation and Accommodations

We value the work our interns do and offer competitive pay based on location and student status. You are expected to arrange your own accommodation and commute to the office.

  • Undergraduate: $21.50/Hour
  • Graduate: $23.00/Hour
