NYU Tulsa is seeking a local, part-time instructor to teach “Sustainability for Competitive Advantage” in Spring 2027. The course is sponsored by the NYU Stern School of Business and contributes to the Sustainable Business concentration, which prepares students to embed sustainability into core business strategy and create long-term value across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Students will include a mix of undergraduate business students and interdisciplinary majors. The course schedule will be determined in consultation with the final candidate.
The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering all classes, (based on the Sustainability forCompetitive Advantage syllabus, cases, and decks which will be provided), grading student work, and holding at least one office hour per week. Candidates should have demonstrated experience teaching or working in sustainable business strategy, corporate sustainability, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics, or related areas. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity of intellectual life at NYU Tulsa.
We are seeking candidates with a blend of academic preparation, industry experience, and teaching ability. Candidates should have extensive industry/professional experience in sustainable business, environmental studies, public policy, operations, management, finance, business strategy, or a relevant field and/or a relevant terminal degree (e.g., PhD, JD, MBA, MPA, MPS). Candidates with professional experience in sustainability, CSR, ESG consulting, or sustainable innovation are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to teach with an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Ideally, candidates will have two to three years of university-level teaching experience; experience working with undergraduate students is especially valued. In some cases, substantial industry experience may be considered in lieu of academic teaching experience.
Salary will be based on part-time faculty rates for the course and location. Other terms and conditions will be discussed with the successful applicant. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the United States at the time of appointment.
