We are now looking for an experienced Sustainability Transformation Manager to continue the journey with us.

Can you help us shape a long-term vision for success and positive impact?

The Sustainability Transformation Manager is responsible for portfolio management of Hempel’s sustainability projects. The role is based in Lyngby, Denmark. Hempel’s sustainability project portfolio includes strategic impact projects, business segment initiatives, product sustainability and ESG programs. The Sustainability Transformation Manager drives the execution of the full sustainability project portfolio.

This is a matrix leadership role, reporting directly to the VP Sustainability, and includes daily portfolio management of sustainability initiatives, as well as stakeholder management and collaboration with key partners across the organization.

What does your day-to-day look like?

  • Portfolio management of sustainability projects

  • Tracking and monitoring progress and reporting to key stakeholders through reports and presentations

  • Strategic communication to key stakeholders

  • Participation in and/or leading relevant project steering committee meetings and ensuring follow-up with project managers and stakeholders

  • Leading selected sustainability projects where relevant

  • Driving continuous improvement of project management processes, development and execution, supporting decision-making and prioritization across the sustainability agenda

  • Supporting and developing Sustainability Team members to continuously improve and grow

What do you need to be successful in this role?

As Sustainability Transformation Manager, you will be part of the corporate Sustainability team, focusing on ensuring the delivery of sustainability projects and initiatives within the sustainability strategy. We expect that you have:

  • Solid experience in portfolio and project management (3-5 years)

  • Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders across functions, creating followership

  • Excellent communication skills orally, in writing, and through presentations in English

  • Ability to efficiently manage and coordinate many tasks simultaneously while adapting to shifting priorities

  • Excellent business and commercial acumen with a rapid ability to understand business landscapes

  • Solid understanding of sustainability themes, initiatives, projects and ESG programs

  • Experience managing complex projects in matrix organizations

  • A proactive “driver seat” mindset to ensure project execution and results
