and responsibilities:

This Sustainability Regulatory Analyst role will be focused on packaging and will support the Global Packaging Domain Lead in ensuring effective global coordination, compliance execution, and implementation of packaging regulations
The role acts as a key operational partner, driving day-to-day execution, providing regulatory insights, and ensuring high-quality implementation across regions.

  • Detecting and analysing regulatory requirements impacting HP for packaging (structural and labeling).
  • Ensure global compliance of HP product packaging with environmental regulations and market access requirements
  • Maintain visibility on regulations, trends, implementation status, risks, and challenges across regions
  • Prepare and support monthly compliance reviews and reporting
  • Track and resolve off-track items, driving actions and mitigation plans
  • Support development and quality of Working Assumptions and regulatory interpretations
  • Act as packaging sustainability SME for customer inquiries and requirements
  • Collaborate with HP Packaging team to set and drive HP’s sustainable packaging strategy and goals across functions
  • Monitor industry trends, technologies, and competitor landscape to inform decisions
  • Support development, evaluation, and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions
  • Drive cross-functional coordination and support implementation projects (e.g., regulatory changes, new products, audits)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of packaging materials, processes, and systems.
  • Experience and skills in packaging testing, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Basic understanding of different packaging materials and general sustainability.
  • Certification or training in sustainable packaging, such as Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) or Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) membership, is a plus.
  • Typically, 4-7 years’ experience in packaging design, sustainability, compliance or with relevant work experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven project management skills to lead projects and programs with team members from diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully coordinating and directing virtual, matrixed teams and resources to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and solve complex problems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
  • Willingness to thrive in an ambiguous and a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated to make progress towards goals autonomously as needed.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience or understanding of productivity software and tools including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, results, and requests at the senior management level.
