The Sustainable Packaging Analyst supports global sustainable packaging initiatives by managing data requests, coordinating cross-functional inputs, and delivering accurate documentation to meet sustainability and regulatory reporting requirements. The role monitors shared platforms and communication channels to ensure timely response to internal and external inquiries, collaborates with packaging teams and suppliers to obtain required technical information, and supports testing and validation activities under guidance. This position requires strong analytical capability, organizational discipline, and clear written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively engage stakeholders across regions and functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates with internal stakeholders, external customers, external suppliers of packaging and other departments daily regarding various aspects of packaging sustainability data
  • Monitor mailbox and platforms, identify requested documentation or data, complete requests according to agreed timelines
  • Work cross-functionally with packaging teams, internal and external stakeholders, and suppliers to obtain required information for sustainability reporting, regulatory reporting, sustainable packaging inquiries
  • With guidance, organize testing plans and validation methods for sustainable components, packages and supply sources
  • Proactively monitor emerging packaging and sustainability regulations and industry trends, assess potential business impacts, and communicate relevant insights to support compliance and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain data integrity within ERP and reporting systems and contribute to process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Supply Chain, Data Management, Data Analytics, or closely related field
  • 1-3 years of packaging development and project management experience as part of a cross functional team within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams in a virtual, global environment.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical and sustainability data into clear, actionable information.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and external partners to obtain required documentation and meet agreed timelines without direct authority.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests, prioritize effectively, and deliver accurate results with attention to detail.

  • Professional judgment and diplomacy in managing competing priorities, resolving data gaps, and maintaining productive working relationships.

  • Basic understanding of packaging conversion processes and manufacturing operations, including familiarity with common packaging materials, components, production methods and industry recyclability guidelines.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PowerBI, Power Query, Outlook)

  • Experience working in ERP environments (SAP strongly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge in the areas of packaging and sustainability / Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) / ESG programs
  • Certified Packaging Professional (CPP)
  • Experience engaging with external suppliers to obtain technical, compliance, or sustainability-related documentation.

  • Prior exposure to sustainability reporting, regulatory reporting, or packaging-related data management processes.

  • Experience working in a matrixed, multinational organization with cross-regional collaboration.

  • Demonstrated involvement in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy or workflow efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments, exercising sound judgment and adaptability when guidance, requirements, or regulatory expectations are unclear or changing.

  • Experience with Power Apps would be considered an asset

    Experience with S/4HANA a plus
