And we need people like you to make it happen.

We empower you to reach your potential with opportunities to make an impact to be proud of – for food, people and the planet.

Within Sustainability Operations Europe, which is part of the global Sustainability Operations that drives Collection & Recycling across 8 regions globally, we are now looking for a Sustainability Manager – Collection & Recycling to support our work across Finland and the Baltics.

In this role, you will focus on the operational deployment of Tetra Pak’s collection and recycling agenda in the market. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen collection, sorting, and recycling of beverage cartons, while also helping create the right local conditions for markets to meet evolving regulatory requirements, including PPWR.

As Sustainability Manager Finland and Baltics, you will deploy the company’s collection and recycling strategy at market level, build the network and ensure stakeholder engagement to execute the local action plans and managing investment-related projects. Thus, this is a role for someone who combines strong execution skills with the ability to navigate a broad stakeholder landscape, build external relationships, and translate strategy into actions on the ground.

The position is based in Lund, Sweden, or Helsinki, Finland, and reports to the Head of Sustainability North Europe. Travelling will be required as part of the role.

What you will do

  • Drive deployment of the collection and recycling agenda in Finland and the Baltics
  • Follow up on activities, initiatives, and collaborations that support increased collection, sorting, and recycling of beverage cartons
  • Act as a key point of contact for topics related to recycling systems, collection solutions, and related market development in the region, supporting Market operations and other business functions
  • Work cross-functionally with Sustainability Operations, Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Communication, and commercial teams to create momentum in priority topics
  • Monitor, analyse, and where relevant support efforts to influence regulatory developments in order to strengthen local conditions for meeting EU legislation, such as PPWR
  • Identify local needs, barriers, and opportunities within collection and recycling, and translate these into clear recommendations, priorities, and actions
  • Support customer-facing and market-facing dialogue where collection, recycling, and regulatory developments are relevant
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders across the value chain, as Producer responsibility organisations (PRO’s), sorters and recyclers, customers and retailers, including relevant industry and policy forums
  • Contribute structure, follow-up, and project coordination to activities and initiatives within the area
  • Support the planning and facilitation of workshops, working sessions, and other forums to create direction, alignment, and ownership

We believe you have

  • A university degree in a relevant field such as sustainability, environmental science, engineering, natural sciences, international affairs, or similar
  • Several years of experience working with sustainability, circularity, collection, recycling, regulatory affairs, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, market-facing, and operational topics linked to collection and recycling
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and creating progress in topics with many dependencies
  • Ability to translate high-level priorities into practical execution in a complex, cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your message to different audiences
  • Ability to work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented way
  • Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken. If you speak Finish, it is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Experience from producer responsibility, recycling systems, policy development, or collaboration across the recycling value chain will be considered an advantage.

As a person, you are structured, pragmatic, and driven. You always strive to find a solution and are open to re-evaluate the situation if needed. You are comfortable working across functions and with external stakeholders, and you know how to create momentum in areas that require long-term coordination and relationship-building. You combine a hands-on approach with the ability to see the broader market and regulatory context.

We Offer You

  • A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape
  • A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results
  • An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
  • Market competitive compensation and benefits with flexible working arrangements
