ISS Manila is seeking a Sustainability Junior Data Analyst to join the Sustainability Bond Rating (SBR) Data Operations team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on the assessment, validation, and maintenance of sustainability bond data, ensuring alignment with ISS ESG methodologies and supporting the delivery of high-quality, reliable outputs to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Bond-level assessment, profiling, and analysis of sustainability bonds, including Green, Social, Sustainability bonds, and Sustainability-Linked Bonds (SLB), based on available disclosures (e.g., Final Terms, Prospectus, Allocation and Impact Reports).

  • Assess and extract relevant data points in accordance with SBR methodology, data policies, and interpretation guidelines.

  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of outputs.

  • Review and resolve data discrepancies, edge cases, and interpretation gaps, escalating complex issues when necessary.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and contributing to root-cause analysis and process enhancements.

  • Ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT), productivity, and quality benchmarks for profiling and reviewing activities.

  • Respond to internal stakeholder queries (e.g., Research, Product, Data Stewardship) regarding data interpretation, methodology alignment, and case handling.

  • Maintain and update internal trackers, documentation, and performance metrics related to production and quality monitoring.

  • Collaborate with global teams (e.g., Manila and Mumbai) to ensure consistent application of methodology and processes.

  • Participate in projects, working groups, and ad hoc tasks related to methodology updates, system enhancements, and workflow improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, International Studies, or any related field.

  • 0–2 years of experience in research, data collection and analysis, or ESG-related work (fresh graduates are welcome to apply).

  • Strong reading comprehension skills, with the ability to interpret financial and technical documents (e.g., bond documentation).

  • Familiarity with ESG concepts, sustainable finance, or fixed income instruments is an advantage.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, especially in handling complex or ambiguous cases.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured, high-volume environment.

  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly grasp methodologies, processes, and new concepts.

  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work requirements, including occasional extended hours if needed.
