DEPARTMENT

The Groningen survey district carries out inspections on board ships and during new-construction. A new construction vessel, when being built, requires inspections and testing of the structure and the installations on board before being certified and coming into service. The new construction vessel, after coming into service, requires regular inspections / surveys and you are carrying out these inspections / surveys according to class rules and international legislation. You are responsible for these surveys, recording and reporting of the surveys, and communication with the crew, manager and / or owner.

YOUR ROLE

As surveyor you are carrying out periodical inspections such as annual, intermediate and renewal surveys on board seagoing ships or surveys during new constructions of seagoing ships according class rules and international legislation. You are responsible for the technical verifications, recording of the inspections and communication with crew, ship manager or yard. Your main role will be ship-in-service surveyor.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a completed bachelor education (HBO) Mechanical Engineering or (HBO) Maritime Academy with at least 5 years of experience as seagoing engineer, deck officer or maritime officer.
  • You have extensive technical skills and are familiar with International Legislation.
  • Experience as surveyor is preferred.
  • English and Dutch language skills in word and writing are a requirement.
  • You are flexible as to working hours
  • You have experience in reporting
  • You have good communication skills, and you feel at home in a highly dynamic environment.
