Surveyor II

Location: Calera, AL
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Contract- 3 Years

Client- Alabama Power

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor II with at least 5 years of field surveying experience, preferably within civil construction environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience operating robotic survey instruments, GPS systems, and data collectors, along with the ability to read and interpret grading plans and soil reports. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can work effectively in a field office environment at active job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Field Surveying

• Perform field surveying activities using:
  • Robotic total stations
  • GPS equipment
  • Data collectors
• Conduct layout and verification for civil construction projects.
• Gather and record accurate field data.
• Work in a field office located on job sites.

Plan Interpretation & Reporting

• Read and interpret grading plans and soil reports.
• Communicate survey results clearly to project teams.
• Maintain accurate field notes and documentation.

Equipment & Technology

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments and data collection tools.
• Utilize computers and/or iPads for field reporting and documentation.
• Use Microsoft Office products for reporting and communication.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of surveying experience.
• Proficiency with:
  • Robotic instruments
  • GPS systems
  • Data collectors
• Experience in civil construction projects preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret grading plans and soil reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong computer and/or iPad skills.
• Ability to work in field office environments on active job sites.
