What you'll do as a DNV Surveyor:
- Conduct Fleet in Service surveys on ocean-going vessels calling at ports along Canada's eastern seaboard and offshore locations.
- Survey of Offshore Installations - surveying structures, machinery and equipment during new construction, upgrades and in-service operations.
- Verifying compliance with C-NLOER and Certificates of Fitness requirements, DNV Classification Rules, Statutory and International Standards.
- Provide technical guidance to customers on compliance and certification matters, promoting DNV's services and expertise.

What Is Required:
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Naval Architecture or a Marine or Mechanical Engineering Degree and/or equivalent maritime qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 or more years of Maritime / Offshore industry experience.
- Travel up to 25% (includes offshore trips 2-3 weeks durations and approx. 3-4 times per year).
- Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job: climbing pilot ladders & tanks, flying, flying in helicopter, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
What Is Preferred
- Experience as a ship and/or offshore classification surveyor would be beneficial along with experience as an ISM/ISPS/MLC auditor.
- Experience with C-NLOER regulations as well as Transport Canada ship regulations would be an asset.
