STV’s Survey Group is seeking an Entry-Level Survey Technician to support field operations across Georgia. This role is ideal for candidates beginning their career in land surveying who are eager to learn, develop technical skills, and contribute to project delivery.
The Survey Technician will assist with field data collection, basic computations, and equipment handling while working closely with survey crews and project teams.
Learn and apply fundamental land surveying methods, equipment, and procedures
Assist with field data collection using survey instruments (e.g., GPS, total stations)
Perform basic survey calculations and support data processing efforts
Conduct research and assist with preparing accurate and complete survey deliverables
Review assigned work for accuracy and completeness prior to internal review
Maintain project schedules by completing assigned tasks on time
Communicate effectively with the Survey Manager and team members regarding progress and issues
Ensure survey vehicles and supplies are properly stocked and maintained
Load and unload survey equipment daily and maintain proper care of tools
High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
0–2 years of related experience (internship or coursework acceptable)
Valid driver’s license required; ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle is a plus
Willingness to travel and work out of town during the week as needed
Ability to travel throughout Georgia and surrounding states as required
Flexible schedule, including four 10-hour days (Monday–Thursday) with occasional Fridays or Saturdays
Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments, including construction sites, urban areas, and rural terrain across Georgia
Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking long distances, climbing, kneeling, and squatting
Compensation Range:
$45,675.00 - $51,903.00
