IMEG is hiring a Surveying Intern in Palmetto Bay, FL to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs. Over the course of this 10-12 week summer internship, you will gain hands-on experience while learning the Civil Engineering trade.
In this role, you will support project work within monetary budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will contribute to work connected to the team's transportation and bridge markets while building practical experience across design, documentation, and field observation.

Assist with design portions of discipline-related project work according to code and IMEG standards
Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources
Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and document permanent record files
Coordinate design and schedule needs with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and provide other services required by the contract services agreement
RequiredEducation and Experience
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
Skills and Abilities
May be required to assist with field duties like surveying and materials testing
Strong interest in design consulting
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
