Job Description

Lumos & Associates is seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager to join our Surveying Division at our Reno headquarters.

Our Reno team performs a diverse range of services, including topographic surveys supporting engineering design, construction surveying, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and land division mapping. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate, timely survey data that keeps engineering and construction projects moving.

We are looking for a Project Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset — someone who takes ownership of results, drives performance, maintains high technical standards, and continuously looks for ways to improve efficiency, strengthen client relationships, and support our Engineering Division at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and direct survey teams in responsible charge.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, including topographic design surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land division mapping, and construction staking.
  • Ensure survey deliverables are accurate, complete, and provided on schedule to support engineering and construction timelines.
  • Serve as a key liaison between survey and other technical disciplines, promoting proactive communication and seamless data integration.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets with financial accountability.
  • Provide thorough QA/QC review prior to stamping to uphold company and industry standards.
  • Serve as primary client contact and build long-term professional relationships.
  • Support business development efforts and actively cultivate repeat and referral work.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff through delegation, coaching, and performance feedback to strengthen the next generation of survey professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive land surveying experience.
  • Nevada and/or California P.L.S. license, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
  • Experience successfully managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing emerging survey professionals.
  • Proficiency with Trimble GNSS and terrestrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
  • Working knowledge of photogrammetry, LiDAR, and laser scanning is desirable.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of impactful projects within a collaborative, well-supported headquarters environment. The right candidate will have visibility, influence, and a clear role in advancing the performance and growth of our Survey Division.
