Job Description

Audubon Field Solutions is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our growing Survey & Mapping team. Our primary workload consists of oil & gas pipeline and electric transmission line projects, but we are looking for a well-rounded survey professional capable of performing a variety of survey assignments—not just collecting shots along a pipeline.

The successful candidate will lead field crews on boundary, topographic, route, utility, construction, and as-built surveys while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Candidates who enjoy learning new technologies and expanding their skill set will find opportunities to work with our Laser Scanning and UAS (Drone) Services teams on qualified projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise one- to three-person survey crews.
  • Perform:
  • Establish and verify horizontal and vertical survey control.
  • Maintain complete electronic field notes and daily reports.
  • Perform field quality control checks to ensure survey accuracy.
  • Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, Professional Surveyors, and office personnel.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and survey equipment.
  • Represent Audubon professionally while interacting with clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of survey field experience (Party Chief experience preferred)
  • Experience leading survey crews
  • Strong understanding of survey procedures and field calculations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to travel as project needs require

Equipment Experience

  • Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
  • Experience with laser scanning, LiDAR, or UAS mapping is a plus but not required.

Office Skills

  • Field experience is our primary requirement. Office experience is considered a plus but is not required.
  • Preferred software experience includes:
  • Candidates interested in developing office processing skills will have opportunities for additional training.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Walk several miles per day over rough terrain
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Climb, bend, squat, and work around construction sites
  • Travel and occasionally work extended hours to meet project schedules

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
