Are you a detail-oriented surveyor with knowledge of topographic and cross-section surveys? As a Survey Party Chief, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy and precision in every aspect of our work. Your expertise in control lines, elevations, contours, and land features will guide project management and work crews, enabling them to execute their tasks with confidence. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to deliver technical insights that directly impact project success. You will be joining our $4.6B SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta—one of the largest roadway projects in the United States—delivered through a public-private partnership led by FlatironDragados and Acciona. This landmark infrastructure project includes the design, construction, long-term operation, and maintenance of the corridor for 50 years, transforming a critical route and supporting mobility in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.

What you will be doing

• Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff i.e., forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, piping hangers and supports, etc.
• Ensure that crews perform layout work competently and accurately.
• Check as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
• Assist with conducting quantity calculations as required.
• Monitor and maintains the condition and calibration of surveying equipment.
• Coordinate survey activities with the assigned engineer and superintendents to meet the construction requirements.
• Manage survey department resources and department assigned budget.

What we are looking for

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geometrics or related field preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in survey or land mapping required.
• Experience in heavy civil projects (roadway, rail, tunneling, or bridge) required
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Developing leadership and management skills.
• Expert knowledge of land mapping and technical survey instrument techniques.
