Survey Party Chief
Location: Pottstown, PA
A respected, award-winning civil engineering and land surveying consulting firm is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field operations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality survey work while leading a field crew on a diverse mix of land development, municipal, commercial, and construction projects. What You'll Be Doing
- Lead a survey field crew on boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, as-built, and control surveys.
- Perform field measurements using GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
- Establish and verify survey control, benchmarks, grades, and construction layout.
- Review field data to ensure accuracy and completeness before submitting deliverables.
- Coordinate daily activities with project managers and office staff.
- Maintain organized field notes and electronic records.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Mentor and help develop junior field personnel.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of land surveying field experience.
- Previous experience leading a survey crew.
- Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and electronic data collection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret survey plats, construction drawings, and engineering plans.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Pennsylvania Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is a plus but not required.

Compensation targeting $33/hr - $42/hr
