Survey Department Manager

Location: Somerville, NJ

We are seeking a highly qualified and licensed Professional Land Surveyor to lead our firm's Survey Department.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Survey Department Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership: Providing visionary leadership to the Survey Department, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to industry standards.
  • Team Management: Overseeing a team of surveyors, technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Project Oversight: Managing and coordinating surveying projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget compliance.
  • Client Interaction: Building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilizing your extensive knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, and state regulations to guide survey projects to successful outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and precision of survey data and deliverables.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring full compliance with state and local surveying regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Budget Management: Managing departmental budgets and resources efficiently to maximize profitability.
  • Technology Integration: Staying up-to-date with the latest surveying technologies and tools to enhance departmental capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Professional License: A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying, with a proven track record of managing survey projects.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide team members.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in surveying software, equipment, and methodologies.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of New Jersey land surveying regulations and codes.
