GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Will report directly to the Mohican Gaming Commission and will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the surveillance officers and will work closely with the surveillance technicians to provide optimum coverage of all tribal gaming facilities.This position will have authority to effectively recommend to the Commission to hire, fire and promote officers within the surveillance department.This position will also have the capability to work cooperatively with gaming management, law enforcement officials, and other tribal entities involved in the creation of a central monitoring system to strive for ultimate protection of tribal gaming and non-gaming assets.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
All employees of Stockbridge Munsee Community must meet the following qualification:
1. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and health screening.
2.Must be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated on job description
3.Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record
4.Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays
5.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Mohican Gaming License.
DUTIES:
1. Must maintain confidentiality at all times.Maintaining a low profile regarding gaming issues at all times whether on duty or off.
2. Have the ability to write clear and concise reports.
3. Responsible for scheduling Surveillance Officers to insure minimum/maximum coverage at all Stockbridge-Munsee owned and operated gaming sites.
4. Responsible for accurately recording timesheets, vacation/holiday requests, performing evaluations on Surveillance Officers, perform corrective action on surveillance officers who violate department procedures, reviewing incident reports, keep updated file on Surveillance Officer employee relation list and gathering all facts concerning all reports before forwarding it to the Mohican Gaming Commission for review and any other duties as required.
5. Must have the ability to operate CC-TV (Closed Circuit Television) gaming surveillance equipment.
6. Must be able to trouble shoot minor equipment failures in the absence of surveillance technicians.
7. Maintain an updated file of all reported suspected scams and subjects involved.
8. Will be responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies for surveillance department to keep the department running efficiently.
9. Must be able to train Surveillance Officers in all aspects of their duties.
10. Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
11. Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
12. Required to attend job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
13. Must adhere to tribal law and other applicable laws as well as tribal personnel policies and procedures.
14. May be required to satisfactorily complete an exam or other testing requirement(s) to determine skill proficiency.
15. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Candidate shall possess an Associate degree (transcripts must be provided) or shall have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in at least one of the following areas:
a) Law Enforcement
b) Surveillance
c) Security
d) Gaming
2. A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
3. Must have a proven work history and exceptional attendance record.
4. Must be able to work a rotating schedule that will cover all three shifts as outlined by the Mohican Gaming Commission that will include working weekends and holidays.
5. Must be able to work in the absence of a Surveillance Officer in the event of a schedule crisis.
6. Must submit to and pass, pre-employment drug and health screening requirements and the Criminal Investigation Background Check (CIB) and be able to obtain a Primary Gaming License through the Mohican Gaming Commission.
7. Must be willing to attend all applicable training.
8. Must be eligible for coverage under the employer’s liability insurance.
9. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
10. Must be able to meet physical requirements of position.
11. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required.Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license within 30 days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license.Must meet and maintain the eligibility to operate a personal or tribal vehicle under the driver acceptability guidelines as established by Mohican Nation Insurance.
12. Must abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.
13.Shall disclose a list of all relatives or close friends who are employed at any of the Stockbridge-Munsee owned and operated gaming site.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must learn each department’s internal control procedures operating within any tribally owned gaming facility.
2. Must be familiar with Minimum Internal Control standards on Tribal, Federal and State levels.
3. Must be familiar with the Mohican Gaming Ordinance and the Tribal/State Gaming Compact.
4. Must be able to attend any training that will enhance the productivity of the surveillance officer’s job duties.
5. Must be trained in all gaming departments with emphasis on but not limited to slot, table games, bingo and cage/vault procedures.
6. Will be required to attend Sexual Harassment Training.
RESTRICTIONS:
1. Candidate will not be employable at any of the Tribe’s gaming facilities for two (2) years after terminating his/her position as a Surveillance Manager.This should not be implied to include management positions.
2. Six (6) months probationary period.
3. Must read and sign the Confidentiality and Restriction Policy for this position.
4. Must pass pre-employment drug and health screening.Must adhere to the Tribe’s Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. This position requires a lot of sitting with occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
2. Evening and/or weekend is required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
3. Work environment requires excellent personal hygiene due to working in close proximity to others and in an enclosed area.
4. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or TB Skin Test may be required.
