Job Description

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to be responsible for Surplus Lines Tax compliance.

This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in the niche area of insurance and taxes law while working closely with a supportive and cohesive team.

Essential duties include the following:
  • Prepares monthly surplus lines submissions for assigned states.
  • Reconciles tax reports to the general ledger and prepares payment and correcting journal entries for assigned states.
  • Prepares quarterly, semiannual, or annual surplus lines tax reports for assigned states.
  • Prepares surplus lines tax accounts monthly reconciliation and coordinates with data control to correct any set-up, programming, or downloading errors.
  • Prepares stamping fee invoices and submission for payment.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Zero to one (0-1) years of experience in premium accounting or tax accounting.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities under strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow up skills.
