FT Surgical Technology Instructor
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
- Is a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
- Possess the NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Has a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
- Possess a minimum of an associate’s degree in any discipline required, concentration in surgical technology preferred; baccalaureate degree or higher in any discipline recommended; *baccalaureate may be required based on individual
institution accreditation standards
- Has documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning.
- Documented expertise in academic subject area as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, certifications and/or résumés.
- Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.
- Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Prior postsecondary-related teaching experience is highly desired but not required
