Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech)

Full-Time | $35/hour | Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to support pain management and ophthalmology procedures at our busy surgery center. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures.
• Maintain the sterile field and follow infection prevention protocols.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assist the surgical team as needed.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery.
• Perform instrument and sponge counts before and after procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and restock equipment and operating rooms between cases.
• Monitor surgical equipment and ensure supplies are available.
• Maintain accurate procedure documentation and communicate patient-related information to the nursing team.
• Follow facility policies, safety standards, and required training guidelines.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Current BLS certification
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Preferred

• At least 2 years of operating room experience
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, where applicable
