Join our Surgical department at the KU Eye Center located in Prairie Village, KS. We are willing to consider both full or part-time candidates.
For more than 100 years, the Eye Center has offered the most advanced, evidenced-based eye and vision care. Our team provides the full spectrum of eye care services, from routine vision exams to advanced surgical procedures and breakthrough treatments for some of the most rare eye conditions.
Surgical cases are performed on patients ages 16 and up and can include: Cataracts, Retina, Cornea Transplant, Glaucoma, Oculoplastic, Lasik & Refractive Surgery, Neuro-ophthalmology. In this role, you will be cross trained to other functions within the clinic including sterile processing, and front desk duties. We are willing to train a new graduate Surgical Technologist.
Open positions start at 6:30am. Full-time positions are 4 - 10 hour shift and part-time positions will work 2 or 3 – 10 hour shifts. NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS!! Benefit eligible.
The Surgical Technologist, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and the Nurse Manager, handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the surgical procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the surgical procedure and is maintains constant vigilance of the sterile field.
