UNIT DESCRIPTION:
Labor & Delivery at UVMMC supports our Network and region by performing 2,200 to 2,300 deliveries per year with 11 rooms and 2 operating rooms in-unit. In late 2025, Labor & Delivery, as part of the Vermont Children's Hospital, joined the Golisano Children's Alliance.

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (TS-C) is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the sterile field. The Technologist accurately and efficiently anticipates surgeon’s needs intraoperatively by applying comprehensive knowledge of operative procedures, Equipment, anatomy and surgeons’ preferences. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (TS-C) works closely with all perioperative team members during the preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative care of the surgical patient. The Certified Surgical Technologist will also be required to precept.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
Proof of active and current National Certification as a CST— (Certified Surgical Technologist) or TS-C (Tech in Surgery—Certified).
BLS Certification—Renewed bi-annually or as required by UVMMC.
This is a bargaining union position.
