Job Description

National Spine and Pain Centers is seeking a Per Diem Surgical First Assist to join our team of highly trained, caring professionals at our surgery center located in Winter Park, FL

  • Schedule: as needed, Mondays
  • Hours: Dayshift, flexible hours
  • Pain management and spine experience highly preferred.

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

  • This is a dual role, CST, and First Assist responsibilities This candidate will assist the physician during the surgical case as a CST and assist with wound closure as a First Assist.
  • Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures with a high degree of efficiency, anticipating the surgeon’s and patient’s needs during the case
  • Ensure the availability of adequate supplies, equipment and instruments for scheduled cases and assist in opening cases in a sterile manner
  • Utilize physician preference cards to set up each case; updating cards when indicated
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping
  • Ensure accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts are completed when indicated

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and completion of Certified Surgical Assisting Program
  • Certification as a First Assistant Preferred
  • Minimum four years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist prior to Surgical FA
  • Current BLS
  • The capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while demonstrating resourcefulness and proactivity.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
